PIANY elects nine to board of directors for 2015-16

GLENMONT, N.Y.–The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc., elected nine New York insurance producers to serve on the board of directors at the associations annual business meeting today in Glenmont, N.Y.

The following individuals were elected to serve for a three-year term, ending in 2018:

 

Richard Andrews, LUTCF, owner and principal of the Andrews Agency Inc., in Ithaca, N.Y. As an active member of PIANY, Andrews is vice chair of the Education/Conference Committee. He also is a member of the Member, Benefits & Services Committee and is an ex-officio member of the associations Southern Tier Advisory Council.

 

Tim Dean, CIC, CRM, president of Marshall & Sterling Inc., in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Active in PIANY, Dean is a member of the Company/Industry Relations and Government Affairs committees.

 

Fred Holender, CLU, CPCU, ChFC, MSFS, director of administration for Lawley Services Inc., in Buffalo, N.Y. Active in PIANY, Holender served as a member of the board of directors from 2013 and is chair of the Company/Industry Relations Committee and is a member of the Government Affairs and PIANY Political Action committees. He also is chair of the associations Buffalo Advisory Council.

 

Anthony Kammas, president of Skyline Risk Management Inc., in Flushing N.Y. Active in the association, Kammas is vice chair of the Company/Industry Relations Committee. He also is a member of the Government Affairs Committee and is an ex-officio member of the New York City Advisory Council.

 

Leslie Rogoff, commercial lines manager for Madison Avenue Brokerage in New York City. A PIANY member for several years, Rogoff serves as chair of the Education/Conference Committee; as a member of the Member, Benefits & Services Committee and she is chair of the New York City Advisory Council. In 2014, Rogoff received a presidential citation from PIANY for her ongoing efforts to help guide the association and implement programs to benefit its members and for her unwavering support of New Yorks professional insurance agents. In 2012, she was named Committee Chair of the Year by the association. This award recognizes the time and effort agent volunteers give to help guide the association and implement programs to benefit its members.

 

Eugene L. Sandy, CIC, director of marketing and managing partner for the Millennium Alliance Group LLC, in Syosset, N.Y. An active member of PIANY, Sandy will serve as president of the association for 2015-16. He served as president-elect in 2014-15; first vice president in 2013-14; vice president in 2011-13; treasurer in 2010-11 and as secretary in 2009-10. He currently serves as vice president of the Nominations Committee and is a member of the Company/Industry Relations, Executive/Budget & Finance and Government Affairs committees. He also is an ex officio member of the Long Island Advisory Council.

 

Frances A. Scott, principal of FA Scott Insurance Agency in Goshen, N.Y. Scott is an active member of PIANY, serving as chair of the Member, Benefits & Services Committee. She also is chair of the Hudson Valley Regional Awareness Program and is a member of the Education/Conference Committee. Scott is an ex-officio member of the associations Lower Hudson Valley Advisory Council.

 

Gary Slavin, CLTC, CIC, financial services representative for MetLife in Garden City, N.Y. Slavin is a member of PIANYs Education/Conference and Member, Benefits & Services committees. He also is a member of the associations Long Island Advisory Council.

The following individual was elected to serve for a two-year term, ending in 2017:

 

Gino A. Orrino, CPIA, principal of Orrino Capital Services Inc., in Corona, N.Y. As an active member of PIANY, Orrino is a member of the Government Affairs, Member, Benefits & Services and the PIANY Political Action Governing committees. He also is immediate past president of the PIA of New York Young Insurance Professionals, an organization dedicated to the professional and personal growth of newcomers to the insurance industry and an affiliate of PIANY.

PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
