VTDFR misrepresented in phone survey

The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation issued an alert advising the public that it is not currently conducting surveys of any kind at this time and that calls have been made misrepresenting the department.

According to the department's notice:

"DFR has received reports of someone conducting a telephone survey claiming to represent DFR's Insurance Division.

The caller is a woman with an accent who states her affiliation as the 'State of Vermont Insurance Division' and caller I.D. shows the originating phone number as (802) 321-8055.

Eight questions are posed to insurance producers regarding their opinions about the insurance industry. The questions seem to be general inquiries and do not ask for any personal information.
