Metzger receives Distinguished Insurance Service award from PIANY

GLENMONT, NY—Donna Metzger was awarded the Distinguished Insurance Service honor during the Professional Insurance Agents of New York’s annual Hudson Valley Regional Awareness Program being held Oct. 30, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern, NY. This award is presented to an individual with a history of service to the American independent agency system and to PIANY. Metzger is a sales executive for Kemper Personal Insurance.

“Donna is admired and respected by her peers and colleagues in the industry. This award recognizes her long-standing commitment to the insurance industry,” said John Tomassi, CPCU, PIANY president.

Metzger is active in the association and served on PIANY’s Hudson Valley RAP committee.

She has been involved in the insurance industry for more than 40 years and values the long term, meaningful relationships she has developed along the way.

Active in her community, Metzger is an advocate for autism in support of a family member and volunteers at CAPTAIN’s Treasures at Cheryl’s Lodge in Saratoga County, NY. Cheryl’s Lodge provides homework help to community youth to enable them to compete in today’s academic world by offering unique extra-curricular activities and educational support, fostering positive student-teacher relationships outside the classroom, grade improvement and successes.

CAPTAIN’s Treasures supports CAPTAIN’s Community Human Services programs by providing many needed services to help strengthen the community. CAPTAIN Community Human Services supports and empowers people of all ages to reach their goals of personal growth and self-sufficiency. 

PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
