PIACT honors Coyle as Company Person of the Year

     HARTFORD, Conn.–David F. Coyle, agency development manager for Travelers Insurance was awarded Professional Insurance Agents Company Person of the Year at its Annual Convention held at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, in Mashantucket, Conn., March 15-16, 2012. Nominated by PIA member agents, this award is presented to an individual who fosters a strong working relationship with agents and brokers, and who exemplifies a commitment to professionalism and service.

     Coyle began his career as a personal-lines underwriter in 1982 with Aetna Property and Casualty. His career continued with Aetna for nearly 15 years. In mid-1995, he became a marketing representative with the company, then transitioned to Travelers when they acquired Aetna’s p/c division.

     “Our honoree’s vast experience in marketing and his relationships with agents and PIA members throughout the state are unrivaled,” said James R. Berliner, CPCU, immediate past president of PIACT. “His commitment to the independent agency system, and our industry as a whole, are evident in the relationships he’s developed with his agencies. I believe his success is grounded in his recognition that relationships are the substance of our industry. I am pleased to present him with this award.”

      PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
