Agents licensed in New York: Are you in compliance with the New York cyber security regulation?
The New York State Department of Financial Services has indicated to PIA Northeast that tens of thousands of out-of-state licensees are not in compliance with the New York cyber security regulation (23 NYCRR Part 500). Are you one of them?
As a result of the pandemic, the deadline to file a Certification of Compliance was extended from April 15, 2020, to June 1, 2020. All covered entities and licensed persons who are not fully exempt from the regulation were required to submit a Certification of Compliance no later than June 1, attesting to their compliance for the 2019 calendar year.
PIA encourages all members to double check that they are in compliance in order to avoid possible enforcement action.
