Conn. minimum wage increasing

The State of Connecticut Department of Labor is raising the minimum wage in a four-step increase. Currently, the minimum wage in Connecticut is $10.10 and it will increase to $11 Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, and eventually reach $15 by 2023. According to The Courant, after 2023, future increases in the minimum wage will be in accordance with the federal Employment Cost that tracks wages. Connecticut joins a growing trend of states that are steadily increasing their minimum wage. Other states include: California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
