Dec. 7, 2011 | Jamesburg

The PIANJ Women's Business Forum ended the year with another successful program Dec. 7 at Forsgate Country Club in Jamesburg. More than 30 women gathered to share insights and opinions during Views from Beyond the Glass Ceiling, an executive panel discussion. Panelists, who shared their thoughts on the importance of women in the industry and the paths they have taken to become leaders in their field, included Brenda Johnson, regional vice president Mid Atlantic MetLife; Danielle Priori, sales producer for ADP/Statewide Insurance Agencies Inc.; and Lisa Tepper, regional president, downstate New York and New Jersey, Travelers. Keeping with WBF tradition, gift cards were collected for Family Reach Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial relief and heartfelt support to families who are fighting cancer—in particular families with a child or young adult who is being treated for pediatric or other type of cancer.

The 2010 Women's Business Forums were sponsored by: Platinum: ADP/Statewide Insurance Agency and New Jersey Skylands Insurance/Member of the Tower Group; Gold: Franklin Mutual Insurance Co., and Palisades Safety & Insurance; Silver: Travelers; and Bronze: ARI Insurance Cos., The Hartford and Peerless Insurance.

Earlier 2010 programs included Social Media for the Insurance Professional in May, facilitated by social media experts Eric Taylor of The Empowerment Group and David Riklan of SelfGrowth.com; and You Say More Than You Think: How to Explode Your Sales and Win New Business with body language expert Janine Driver in September.

PIANJ Women's Business Forum is designed to promote career and agency development for the state's female agency executives; foster relationships, both professional and personal; and create a comfortable environment in which participants can further develop existing business and leadership skills.
