Mike DeHetre is Commercial Underwriting Officer at Berkley Life Sciences. Mike began his career in the insurance industry in 1993 after receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Maryland. He subsequently earned his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut.Mike received his CIC designation in 2002 and his CRM designation in 2008. He traces the path of his career across the United States including Maryland, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, and Connecticut with companies including USF&G, The Hartford, Acadia and Travelers. He has had the opportunity to watch the growth and development of the small commercial segment in particular from the use rating manuals, to rating disks and dial-up mainframe access, to the proliferation of mobile technologies today.Mike’s passion for education has led him to many teaching opportunities throughout his career. He’s excited to continue to bring his enthusiasm and commitment for the industry to many more groups in the future.
