Q. What is your insurance origin story?

I started working for my father in 1985. I just hit 40 years in the business last month. I am very grateful for the opportunity given to me by my dad. I had the privilege of working side-by-side with him for more than eight years. The insurance industry has been very good to me, to my family, and has allowed our firm to grow and prosper. To give professional advice and counsel to our customers, to treat our employees right, and to share our success with them and with our community. One of the things I am most proud of is the length of tenure of my employees. I have a pretty simple philsophy, if I treat my employees right, they will treat our customers right.

Q. What first sparked your interest in supporting the Agents Advocacy Coalition and its causes?

We have always contributed annually for as long as I can remember—originally to PIANYPAC.

Q. In your opinion, what are the most important issues or policies the Agents Advocacy Coalition is helping to support?

The fact that we have PIA doing the research, staying on top of issues that effect us and our customers. PIA doing the advocacy work and its Industry Resource Center being extremely valuable to us as agents. An example is having the photo inspections changed to optional. I have probably done 5,000 photo inspections over the past 40 years and never, not once, ever looked back at one. What a great time waster to finally have behind us. This allows us to spend more time advising and counseling our customers.

Q. If you could give one piece of advice to potential new donors considering supporting the AAC, what would it be?

Folks, we are all in this together and we need the Agents Advocacy Coalition to do the work we as agents do not have the time to do. To keep us informed when we need to get involved. Make whatever donation you can, but try to participate. AAC allows us to make the livelihood we do.

Q. Lastly, can you give readers one book, movie, or show recommendation?

The book Small Giants by Bob Burlingham.
