Sompo receives regulatory approval for Aspen acquisition

Sompo Holdings Inc. announced on Feb. 18, 2026, that it has received the necessary antitrust and insurance regulatory approvals required to complete its previously announced acquisition of 100% of the issued Class A ordinary shares of Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. through a wholly owned subsidiary of Sompo International Holdings Ltd..

Beazley, Zurich extend $10.85 billion acquisition deadline

Beazley plc and Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. have extended their due diligence on the proposed $10.85 billion acquisition of Beazley by Zurich as the groups said they are making progress. The deadline was extended to March 4 from Feb. 16 for Zurich to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Beazley or say it does not intend to make such an offer, Beazley said in a statement. The deadline can be extended with the consent of the U.K. Takeover Panel.
