Black named PIACT National Director

HARTFORD, Conn.—The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut has named Jonathan T. Black, LUTCF, CPIA, CLTC, of Fairfield, Conn. its PIA National Director.

Black owns Curtis-Black Insurance Associates, LLC in Danbury, Conn.

With nearly 45 years in the insurance industry, Black is licensed to write Auto, Home, Life, and Health insurance policies in Connecticut. He has been a PIACT member since 1980. He served as president of the association in 1994-95 and currently is a member of PIACT’s Legislative/Business Issues Committee. Black also is chair of the PIA Group Trust.

Active in the insurance industry, Black is chair of the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.

In 2002, Black received PIACT’s Professional Agent of the Year award. This award is given to an agent who has demonstrated excellence and achievement in insurance marketing and service; has shown a personal commitment to professionalism; and has contributed to PIA and the community.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
