Parsons elected first vice president of PIANY

GLENMONT, N.Y.- John C. Parsons II, CIC, CPIA, AAI, executive vice president of Parsons & Associates in Syracuse, N.Y., was  elected first vice president of Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc., at a meeting of the associations board of directors today.

An active member of PIANYs board of directors since 2006, Parsons has served as vice president since 2011 and was treasurer in 2010-11. He is vice president of the associations Member, Benefits & Services Committee and is chairperson of the Syracuse Advisory Council. Parsons also is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance and Government Affairs Committees. Parsons also is a member of the Group Trustees. He has served on the board of the PIA of New York Young Insurance Professionals and received the PIANY Young Insurance Professional of the Year award in 1999. PIANY-YIP is an organization dedicated to the professional and personal growth of newcomers to the insurance industry and an affiliate of PIANY.

In his community, Parsons has been active with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and supports his childrens scholastic sports boosters organizations.

PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
