PIANY calls for InsureTech companies to demo at MetroRAP

GLENMONT, N.Y.—The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State is calling for InsureTech innovators—whose products benefit the independent insurance agency system—to provide demonstrations during its annual Metropolitan Regional Awareness Program, Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at the Sheraton New York Times Square, New York City.

“When InsureTech companies first began to appear, they were viewed by many in the insurance industry as a threat to the independent agency system,” said PIANY President John Tomassi, CPCU. “However, now the technology is being viewed as a way to enhance how insurance agents interact with their clients. MetroRAP is a great venue at which insurance professionals and InsureTech vendors can come together to share how this sector of the insurance industry will continue to evolve.”

InsureTech companies that would like to promote their technology-based products and services to insurance professionals at MetroRAP can contact PIA Conference Manager Kim Zielinski via email at kzielinski@pia.org. If they are interested in registering for the daylong event, and participating in the InsureTech demonstrations, the deadline to sign up for the demonstration is Friday, Nov. 15, 2019.

More than 400 agents, company representatives, exhibitors and other insurance industry professionals from the New York Metropolitan region and downstate New York are expected to attend the event.
