PIANJ meets with DOBI at conference
Members of PIANJ’s Executive Committee, Government Affairs Committee and representatives from PIANJ-YIP gathered to meet with representatives of the Department of Banking and Insurance at the PIANJ/PIANY Annual Conference in Atlantic City, N.J. During the meeting, they discussed some of the pressing issues independent producers face. Representing the DOBI was Peter Hartt, director of the division of insurance; and Kristine Maurer, assistant director of the division of insurance.
Topics of discussion included personal auto step-down provisions; PIANJ’s priority issue of producer duty of care; cybersecurity; certificates of insurance; rebating; allowing producers to charge fees on group health insurance; and the procedure for when a carrier exits the New Jersey marketplace.
This is the third consecutive year that PIANJ has had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the DOBI at the conference. PIANJ has enjoyed a strong working relationship with the department for decades and wants to recognize Hartt and Maurer for their consistent support and hard work on behalf of PIA and the insurance-buying public.
