PIACT honors Sen. Slossberg as Legislator of the Year

  HARTFORD, Conn.—The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. recognized Sen. Gayle S. Slossberg, D-14 as its 2016 Legislator of the Year. PIACT past Presidents Robert C. Shanley, CIC and Howard S. Olderman presented the representative with the award at the 34th PIACT/PIACT-YIP Annual Diamond Club reception held at the Legislative Office Building on Feb. 23, 2017. PIACT presents its Legislator of the Year award to a lawmaker who has demonstrated outstanding effort on behalf of Connecticut’s independent insurance agents and the insurance-buying public.

As a member of the Connecticut Regulations Review Committee, Sen. Slossberg has been an active participant in the approval of regulations proposed by the Connecticut Insurance Department, which impact PIACT members and their businesses.

Slossberg, in appreciation of her outstanding efforts on behalf of Connecticut’s independent insurance agents and the insurance-buying public," Shanley said. "A leader on the issues that matter most to Connecticut’s businesses and consumers, she understands our state’s challenges and is one of the hardest-working lawmakers in our state," added Olderman. "We present this award to her in recognition of her efforts to improve the state’s business climate."
