NJYIP 26th annual Fun Run raises more than $143,000 for SONJ

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Beating last years fundraising by more than $15,000, the New Jersey Young Insurance Professionals proved that the industry puts community first, raising more than $143,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey at its 26th annual Fun Run, held Tuesday, June 15 as part of the PIANJ/PIANY Joint Annual Conference, at the Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City, N.J. NJYIP, partnering with the Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc.s Annual Golf Classic, has raised more than $2.7 million for SONJ.


"For more than a quarter of a century, NJYIP has been committed to working on SONJs behalf," said Danielle Priori, NJYIP president. "As a result, thousands of Special Olympics athletes have the opportunity to train and take part in various events."


Some 186 runners took part in the five-kilometer race. Christopher Mignone, a member of the ADP/Statewide Insurance team, finished first for the men with a time of 18:12; Meg Ogle, of the Franklin Mutual Insurance team, finished first for the women with a time of 20:25. Top fundraisers included top individual: Ron Lovatt, MAPFRE USA/American Commerce, $7,500; top agency: Jimcor, $10,922; and top company: Franklin Mutual Insurance, $53,673.



NJYIP is an organization dedicated to the professional and personal growth of newcomers to the insurance industry and is affiliated with PIANJ. PIANJ is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
