PIACT honors Assemblyman Fontana as Legislator of the Year

MASHANTUCKET, CONN.-The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. today recognized Assemblyman Steve Fontana from the 87th District as this years Legislator of the Year. The formal presentation took place at PIACTs Annual Convention at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, in Mashantucket, Conn. on March 1-2, 2010.

"Assemblyman Fontana accomplishments as a legislator and his support of important issues to his community and our industry have made him a friend of the association and to the insurance-buying public of Connecticut," said PIACT immediate past President James A. Goodman, CIC. "We are very pleased to name him the PIACT Legislator of the Year."

Currently in his seventh term in the Assembly, Fontana serves as House Chairman of the General Assemblys Insurance and Real Estate Committee and as a member of its Transportation and Environment Committees.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
