CTYIP honors Whitehead as YIP of the Year

MASHANTUCKET, CONN.-Julius Whitehead, PHM, CISR, of Guilford, Conn. received the Connecticut Young Insurance Professional of the Year award at the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc.s Annual Convention today at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn. CTYIP, an affiliate of PIACT, promotes the professional and personal growth of those new to the insurance field by providing education and networking opportunities. Whitehead is an underwriter for Housing Authority Insurance Group in Cheshire, Conn.

This award is presented by CTYIP to honor an individual who has exemplified a commitment to professionalism, networking and service and whose efforts have enhanced PIACTs Young Insurance Professionals organization. 

"Julius is an effective and respected individual," said Angela Brunetti, CISR, CIC, president of CTYIP. "His dedication and loyalty to CTYIP and its members is to be admired.

An active member of CTYIP, Whitehead served as president of the association for 2006-07, president-elect in 2005-06 and as vice president from 2004-05. He currently is a member of the CTYIPs Nominations and Programs Committees.

In 2005, Whitehead was awarded CTYIPs Director of the Year. This award is given to a young insurance professional to honor his or her hard work and dedication as a member of the associations board of directors, who also has contributed a great deal of time and talent to help support the association and its programs.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
