PIACT/CTYIP's 2015 Diamond Club Reception
On March 10, 2015, more than 100 of your fellow agents, legislators, regulators and key staff gathered in the Atrium of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford for the 32nd Annual PIACT/PIACT-YIP Diamond Club Reception.
Attendees met with Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, Acting Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Anne-Melissa Dowling, General Assembly Joint Insurance Committee Co-Chair Robert Megna, D-97, Joint Insurance Committee Ranking Member Robert Sampson, R-80, Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen and a host of others to share their thoughts on the state of the market and independent insurance agent issues.
In prior years, the event was held in the Officers’ Club in the State Armory, across the street from the Legislative Office Building; however, in an effort to bring new vibrancy to the event, PIACT held the event in the halls of the government, where, in the words of PIACT past President Jim Berliner, CPCU, “I was able to speak frankly to [a legislator] about what was really going on in the market and what I was dealing with. He was surprised to hear some of the issues we’re facing, and was receptive to what I had to say. This is a great place to have this sort of conversation.” PIACT looks forward to continuing these relationships to represent the best interests of the state’s producer community and the insurance-buying public it serves.
