HARTFORD, Conn.—The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. hosted its Diamond Club Reception at the Officers Club in Hartford on Thursday, March 3, 2011, where PIACT-member agents, Connecticut General Assembly representatives and their staffers reviewed important insurance issues.

Fifty independent insurance agents, legislators and legislative staff attended the annual event. Among those in attendance were Gov. Dannel Malloy and key members of the Assembly Insurance and Real Estate Committee, including Co-Chairs Sen. Joseph Crisco, D-17, and Rep. Robert W. Megna, D-97.

According to PIACT President Howard S. Olderman, the reception was a great opportunity for PIACT members and legislators to discuss the insurance marketplace and issues facing insurance purchasers and producers alike. "It's always beneficial when legislators and their constituents can talk face to face in a informal setting like this," he said.
