Court Cases Where Courts Have Found Coverage for Dummies

Robin Federici, CPCU, AAI, ARM, AINS, AIS, CPIW

There are always those “crazy” stories of insurance claims being paid for the foolish acts of insureds. Why are our insureds making poor decisions and then looking to their insurance carrier to pay for their tomfoolery? We will review recent court cases to see where the courts have found “coverage for dummies” under both commercial and personal lines policies—and getting a good laugh out of a serious subject.

1:30 - 4:30 p.m. • 3 BR, C3, PC, PA (NYCR-245718)

This 3-hour course reviews the leased property exposure and how, if at all, the current commercial and personal contracts respond to the risk. Students will review sample of standard leasing contracts used in various leased property situations and compare the leased language to the current insurance contracts.
