Avoiding E&O lawsuits from flood claims: As agents in areas affected by Superstorm Sandy are learning the hard way, selling flood insurance (or not properly documenting the offer) can result in significant agency E&O exposure. PIA’s Mar. 5 webinar, Avoiding Errors and Omissions in Writing Flood Insurance (^FF ^UM) will combine real-world experience with practical ideas and suggestions to minimize the Errors and Omissions exposures inherent in writing flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP.) Suggestions will be offered for clarification of coverage and limitations as well as risk management tips to minimize the E&O exposure, including those special conditions that are commonly overlooked when discussing flood coverage. Real E&O claim scenarios that have arisen from recent flooding events will be a basis for discussion.

No tests need to be taken for webinar classes.

Disasters—the new normal? Make sure your agency is prepared: Experts have indicated that recent storms like Sandy and Irene may become more frequent as the result of weather pattern changes. Make sure your agency—and your clients—are prepared for future disasters of all kinds. PIA’s Mar. 19 webinar, Disaster planning: preparation for the NEXT disaster, will focus on ways you and your agency can be better prepared for any future disasters—natural or man-made. This program will help you to develop a plan to mitigate damage to your home, your agency and your community; and ensure that your agency is able to operate effectively without power, phone, internet, even access to your agency building.

No tests need to be taken for webinar classes.
