PIACT names Andrews Committee Chairperson of the Year

HARTFORD, Conn.-The Professional Insurance Agents of New Connecticut Inc. today named Mary Kay Andrews, CIC, Committee Chairperson of the Year during its Annual Business Meeting at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

Andrews is vice president of Ion Insurance Corp., in Naugatuck, Conn. The award honors the PIACT volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIACTs committees. She received this honor for her work as convention chairperson of the Association Programs Committee.

"As an active member of the association, Mary Kays contributions to PIACT are numerous and have helped to strengthen the organization," said newly elected President Teri Walsh.

In addition to the Association Programs Committee, Andrews served as PIACTs treasurer in 2014-15; secretary in 2013-14 and also is budget & finance chair of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee. She served on the Government & Industry Affairs Committee and also serves on the Glenmont National Alliance Committee.

In her community, Andrews is a director of the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce. She also serves as treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 194 and volunteers for St. Anthony Church in Prospect, Conn.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
