Walsh elected PIACT president

HARTFORD, Conn.–Teri Walsh of Fairfield, Conn., was elected president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. at the associations Annual Business Meeting, March 12, at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

Walsh is president of Sachs Walsh Insurance in Westport, Conn.

An active member of PIACT, Walsh served as president-elect in 2014-15; vice president in 2013-14 and treasurer in 2012-13. She currently serves as vice president of the Administrative/Nominations Committee, and is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee.

In 2011, Walsh received PIACTs Committee Chair of the Year award for the second time. She was honored for her service as Convention Committee chair. The award honors the PIACT volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIACTs committees. She received the award the first time in 2010.

Active in her community, Walsh is involved in the Womens Spirituality Group of the Saugatuck Congregational Church, the Wesport Chamber of Commerce, Westport Kiwanis, the Westport Historical Society, and the Connecticut Food Bank.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
