PIACT congratulates Commissioner Wade on appointment to U.S. Treasury insurance committee

HARTFORD, CONN.–The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. congratulates Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Katharine L. Wade on her appointment to the U.S. Department of Treasury Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance. The Treasury Department announced the appointment on Oct. 28, 2015.

In a letter to the commissioner, PIACT President Teri Walsh said: "PIA continues to appreciate your attention and concern for the state of Connecticuts insureds and the professional, independent insurance agents with which they do business. We look forward to continuing to offer information and suggestions to assist you in your successful and important work."

The U.S. Department of Treasury Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance allows consumers and representatives from the insurance and reinsurance industry, academics and state regulators to offer advice and recommendations to the Federal Insurance Office. Wade will serve on the committee for a term of up to three years.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
