PIACT announces changes to the largest insurance convention in the state

HARTFORD, Conn.-Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut have announced a new focus this year for the associations Annual Convention at Foxwoods Resort Casino Mashantucket, March 12-13, which is the largest industry networking and education event in the state of Connecticut. 

                                   

"While this convention is always purposeful in helping agents in their professional and business development, we are adding new elements to make sure attendees have fun while they are here," said PIACT President Peter Frascarelli, CPIA.

Such elements include updated technology, a redirection from stodgy speeches and the addition of an act by comedian Dave Reilly at the opening night banquet.

Agents will have ample opportunity to earn continuing-education credits as well. Three timely education sessions are available: Don't Get Burnt-25 Potential E&O Issues presented by Steve Lyon, CPCU, CIC, CRM, AAI, ARM, AIS, CRIS;  The Affordable Care Act and Self-Funding Insurance taught by Jerry Rhinehart, CIC, CLU, ChFC, RHU; Emerging Insurance Issues also taught by Lyon and The Law Has Changed on Flood Insurance. Can You Tell Your Clients How? taught by Sheldon Hansen, CIC, CRM, CPIA.

The event also will feature an expansive trade show; networking opportunities in addition to the opening banquet. Each will offer participants a chance to meet PIACTs new leadership and socialize with colleagues.
