N.J. senators ask AG to investigate Sandy claims

U.S. Sens. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., and Cory Booker, D-N.J., sent a letter to Acting New Jersey Attorney General John Jay Hoffman last week calling on his office to consider launching a formal investigation into potential fraud by Write-Your-Own Companies in an effort to reduce claims payouts to Superstorm Sandy victims.

In the letter, the senators wrote:

If left unaddressed, these practices threaten to stunt our states recovery from Superstorm Sandy and leave many families without the ability to rebuild their homes and move on with their lives.
