HHS offers PIA members free agent-focused health-care webinar

While the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) continues, more and more questions are arising, particularly relative to the role of agents and brokers. In working with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they have agreed to conduct another FREE webinar for PIA members on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, from 1-2:30 p.m. They will cover a number of topics specifically relevant to agents and brokers, including:

• federally-facilitated marketplace and federally-facilitated SHOP registration: identity proofing and obtaining a user I.D.;
• online training and testing; and
• pathways for application and enrollment of individuals; employers and employees in the federally-facilitated marketplaces and federally-facilitated SHOP.

The program also will offer an opportunity for webinar participants to ask specific questions. 

For those association members in New Jersey and New Hampshire, this webinar is pertinent as you will be working with the federally facilitated exchange. For association members in New York and Connecticut, you will still find this webinar valuable, as it will provide insight to market changes and reforms that other states are going through.

To register for the program, log on to: www.regtap.info:

If you already have a username and password from a previous training session:

1. Select "Training Events."
2. Select the magnifying glass next to "Agent Broker Participation in the Federally Facilitated Marketplaces" (Date: 08/16/2013 - 09/27/2013).
3. In the upper right-hand corner, please enter the following PIA Member Registration Code: ABTR6789 and click "submit."
4. In the same upper right-hand corner location, now click "Register Me."
5. Checkmark the top box and click "submit" on the final page and you will be emailed a link to the actual webinar, which will begin on Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.

If you have not yet registered for a username and password:

1. Select "Register as a New User"
• If the registration system asks you to "describe your affiliation" under the email line, please put "PIA Member" in the box under the red text.
• Please select Agents and Brokers as "Organization Type."
2. Once submitted and your registration is instantly confirmed via email, log back into www.regtap.info using your newly created email/password log in and begin with Step 1 above.
