HHS offers free webinar on PPACA for PIA members

While the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act continues, more and more questions are arising, particularly relative to the role of agents and brokers. In working with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they have agreed to conduct a free webinar for PIA members on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 1-2:30 p.m. They will cover a number of topics specifically relevant to agents and brokers including:

• increasing access to coverage for individuals;
• the health insurance marketplaces;
• market reforms overview;
• enrollment process;
• the marketplace and small businesses;
• applying for Small Business Health Insurance Options Program (SHOP) and SHOP Advantages
• broker role in the marketplace; and
• registration and training.

The program also will offer an opportunity for webinar participants to ask specific questions. 

The information will be pertinent to states that have elected to have a federally facilitated exchange. If you are one of those states, this webinar should be of great value to you and your members. If you need to confirm if your state has chosen an FFE, click here.
