DFS to extend post-Sandy moratorium for fourth term

The Department of Financial Services has notified PIA it will again extend the moratorium it enacted after Sandy, originally effective on Oct. 26, 2012. This is the fourth extension of the moratorium, which will likely be lifted on Jan. 16, 2013. It prohibits the termination, cancellation or nonrenewal of any "covered policy," as that term is defined by Insurance Law. DFS tells your association a public announcement is forthcoming.
