Walsh elected PIACT president-elect

HARTFORD, Conn.-Teri Walsh of Fairfield, Conn., was elected president-elect of Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. at the associations Annual Convention, March 13-14, at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn.

Walsh is president of Sachs Walsh Insurance in Westport, Conn.

An active member of PIACT, Walsh served as vice president in 2013-14 and treasurer in 2012-13. She currently serves as vice president of the Legislative/Business Issues Committee, and is an ex-officio member of the Western Connecticut Advisory Council. Walsh also is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee.

In 2011, Walsh received PIACTs Committee Chair of the Year for the second time. She was honored for her service as Convention Committee chair. The award honors the PIACT volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIACTs committees. She received the award the first time in 2010.

Active in her community, Walsh is an active member of the Kiwanis and also is a member of the womens spirituality group of Saugatuck Congregational Church in Westport and is a member of the Westport Chamber of Commerce.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
