Certificates of insurance bill delivered to governor

Members encouraged to call Gov. Andrew Cuomo today and urge him to sign the bill into law

PIANYs highest-priority certificates of insurance bill (A.3107-Morelle, D-136) finally has been sent to the governors desk (despite being passed by both houses back in June) and now needs a last-minute push to get it signed into law.

PIANY members are encouraged to contact the governor and ask him to request the bill and give it favorable consideration. Members may email the governor here, or contact the office by phone at (518) 474-8390.

PIANY met with top staff from his office to discuss the merits of and immediate need for the bill, and continues to lobby and advocate for this much-needed legislation. Members should remind the governor that this bill would dramatically increase the reliability of proper coverage being in place when catastrophic accidents occur, like the crane collapse in New York City.
