Koetzle joins PIA Management Services

GLENMONT, N.Y.–Glenville resident and town Supervisor Christopher Koetzle has joined PIA Management Services Inc., as vice president, a newly created position at the umbrella corporation that manages the Glenmont, N.Y.-based Professional Insurance Agents associations of New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire. Koetzle will report directly to Kenneth Bessette, president and CEO, a 27-year veteran of the organization.

"Chris proven leadership abilities and understanding of the needs of entrepreneurial businesses will benefit our members as we set the path for development and success of their association in the years ahead," said Bessette. "I am confident that his considerable abilities and talents will immediately show him to be a valuable part of our management team and he will help take us solidly into the future."  

Prior to PIA, Koetzle served as vice president at Support Services Alliance Inc., a subsidiary of Rochester, N.Y.-based Excellus, which offers insurance and other affiliate discounts and advocacy for small business members throughout New York state. Over the seven years he was there, he built a successful government relations program and oversaw membership and corporate communications for the organization. Before joining SSA, Koetzle was the media coordinator for the New York state Assembly, Minority Conference. 

Active in his community, he is a member of the Sons of Italy, Glenville Rotary, and a member of the Schenectady County Heritage Foundation. He coaches youth softball and soccer and is a member of the Capital District Public Relations Society and the American Marketing Association. He served for two years as councilman for the town of Glenville and intends to continue as town supervisor, as he is currently serving the second year of his four-year term.

Koetzle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from St. John Fisher College in 1991 and received his Master of Arts in American history from the State University of New York at Brockport in 2000.  He resides in Glenville, N.Y., with his wife and three children.

PIA Management Services Inc. is the umbrella corporation that manages the Glenmont, N.Y.-based Professional Insurance Agents associations, representing independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees in New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Hampshire. PIANY, PIANJ, PIACT and PIANH is a partnership of four state trade associations representing independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout their respective states.
