CONCORD, N.H. ? Professional independent insurance agents and other industry professionals will have the unique opportunity to explore the issues affecting the insurance industry in New Hampshire and New England and how those involved are dealing with them. The Professional Insurance Agents of New Hampshire Inc. and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Hampshire have come together for a Joint Education Conference, to be held April 29-30, at the Radisson Hotel, Manchester, N.H.
New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny will provide a regulatory update. He will also be participating in a CEO/Industry Panel discussion that will give attendees the opportunity to explore current happenings in the industry. Other confirmed panel members include: John B. Gray, senior vice president, General Reinsurance Corp.; Marita Zuraitis, president, Property and Casualty Companies?Hanover Insurance; and Chris Henchey, vice president, MVP Healthcare New Hampshire.
?Conference attendees have the exclusive opportunity to hear from Commissioner Sevigny on the state of the industry in New Hampshire,? said Judy George, CIC, president of PIANH. ?His update and participation on the CEO/Industry Panel will provide our members with invaluable insight into the near future of the insurance business throughout New England and how agents can work to guarantee their success.?
The two-day event also offers the chance to choose from a variety of continuing education courses. ?In order to stay competitive, it is essential that independent agents stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the industry,? said Ken Christian, chairman of the IIABNH Board of Directors. ?The classes offered at the conference are designed to give agents the tools to stand out among their competitors while earning required continuing education credits.?
Participants will have access to the following seminars on Monday: Errors and omissions risk management overview and program development, presented by Judith G. Durst, CPIW, CIC, CPCU, AU, Are; Top 10 misunderstood coverages, presented by Steven D. Lyon, CPCU, CIC, CRM, AAI, ARM, CRIS, AIS; E&O client life cycle and coverage issues, presented by Durst; and Insurance to value: does anyone insure to value anymore?, presented by Lyon. Tuesday?s education sessions include: Street-level ethics, presented by Durst; and Generating revenue through service excellence, presented by Debra Titus, Dale Carnegie Training.
Other events at the conference include conferment ceremonies to recognize those individuals who have recently earned the CIC, CISR, ACSR or AAI designation and an expansive industry trade show, offering agents the opportunity to explore the latest products and services available.
